Webinar: Advance Care Planning in the ED

November 17, 2021

About this Webinar for Physicians and Healthcare Professionals

VITAS is replacing its previously scheduled November 17 webinar on veterans and end-of-life care with a new exploration of “Advance Care Planning in the ED.”

Eric Shaban, MD, VITAS regional medical director, will emphasize the value and importance of timely conversations with patients and families about the care they want and do not want as the end of life approaches.

He will describe specific approaches and tools to initiate ACP conversations in the ED in order to maintain throughput, support appropriate care transitions for seriously ill patients, and explore and honor patients’ and families’ wishes for compassionate end-of-life care.

With the recent uptick in COVID-19, we hope you will find this webinar helpful & informative.

  • CE credit is available to nurses (RN, LPN, LVN, ARNP; in California Registered Nurses only), social workers and certified case managers, as well as licensed nursing home administrators in the State of Florida and Illinois.
